• If you're a past member of the board, but can't recall your password any more, you don't need to set up a new account (unless you wish to). As long as you recall your old login name, you can log in with that user name then select 'forgot password' and the board will email you at your registration email, to let you reset your password.

hi everyone just signed on to site but i just have to say how mad my lady is i think i named her wrong she growls when u pick her up she growls if u touch of her while sleeping :lol: but worst of all when anyone hurts her by accident she growls at you and doesn't forgive u until u give her something nice and loads of kisses :lol: :lol: :lol: it is funny cause she,s only nearly 4 months old but i worry she's going to keep snapping and growling is it normal at this age? :sl*p: :sl*p: :sl*p: :sl*p: :sl*p:
 
I have to say that I've never seen a healthy Cavalier pup respond that way to being touched. If anything, mine have complained if I *haven't* picked them up, and that's true of other CAv pups I've seen too. Is she ok with general petting? What's her background- was she well socialised and handled throughout the teeny tiny baby puppy stage? Could she be in any pain?

THANKS FOR THAT, BUT ITS NOT ALL THE TIME C I HAVE A 7YR OLD SISTER THAT LIVES WITH ME AND SHE TORMENTS HER SHE STARTED DOING IT WITH HER ONLY,BUT I GOT HER A WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS OF A BREEDER THAT IS LISTED WITH THE CKCS AND HER MOTHER WAS A SHOW DOG WITH NO PROBLEMS AND I BROUGHT HER TO THE VET ONLY THE OTHER DAY AND IS OK,SHE IS PLASET WITH ME BUT TRYS TO CHEW ON MY FINGERS OR ANYTHING THATS IN HER GRAB I JUST DON'T NO WHAT TO DO :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
 
It is absolutely normal for a puppy of that age to want to chew on anything and everything, so it's really important to reinforce healthy chewing habits at this age. Kong products, which are now stocked in most pet stores and vets are excellent. Particularly as they can be stuffed with food.

If your puppy is being tormented by your 7 year old sister you have to stop this immediately. It's only natural a dog will become distrustful of humans if mishandled or teased. Your sister needs to be taught how to handle the dog gently and with respect or not at all. Your dog should never ever be left alone with your sister (or any child).

Also training classes would be excellent for socialising your puppy and teaching your sister how to handle her.
