How soon to walk after spay.

Minnie is very lively and we thought it might be a good idea to let her have a gentle slow walk around our Cul De Sac. I phoned the Vet (he wasn't in) and the receptionist said NO! Minnie should be kept in for 10 days until the stitches come out. I remember taking Rudee out a few days after she was done and she was fine, but then again, she was only six months old at the time. Anybody got any opinions on this???

:flwr:

My vets say short walks around the neighbourhood are fine. Nothing in parks with grass or anything like that. Maybe 10 min. max.

So pleased that Minnie is feeling good after her op.

Kyla would like to come for a walk when I get the boys ready, but we are keeing her in the garden for now - we're lucky in that we have a large garden, so she's content for the time being. She is due to have her stitches out on Monday, so we'll start gently after that.

Most of you are having to have the stitches out? Amber's are the soluble kind that dissolve when they're not needed. She's healing very nicely too and probably running around too much... but it's now ten days anyway.

It's good to hear how well Amber is doing .She is the cutest little thing!

Holly too of course
