Health Clinic Questions

Linda

Well-known member
My Vet whom is Dr. Carol Graham at Graham Animal Hospital in Hillsborough is part of the upcoming Health Clinic.
I am going to try and find out a little more information in regards to costs for each. I missed it last year, and would really like to take Dudley to have him checked out, I am also going to inquire if they think Darby is too young to be looked at.

Just posted for anyone interested in going, it is for all breeds of course.

Have many of you attended any of these Health Clinics before. ??????

Also wondering for those of you who have attended these clinics this is
the checklist.

Choose proceedure(s): (Indicate choice by entering "yes", otherwise leave blank)

Heart, Auscultation: Heart, Doppler:

Eyes (Cerf):

Blood, Thyroid: Blood, vWD:

Hips: Elbows: OFA (X-Rays): OFA Prelim (X-Rays): OVC (X-Rays):

Which would you all have done, I was thinking of just having his Eyes, Heart checked. Any input would be apprecaited, as I would like to register soon as they fill up very quickly.

Hi Linda,

If I could make a link, I would but if you google Cavalierhealth,
you can see some recommendations for when to have a Cavvie checked out.

Those are excellent specialists, the opthamologist is a prof. at Guelph.

The cardiologist is from NY, Board Certified.

Good luck with the boys! :flwr:

Thank you, I am going to take both boys.

I am just waiting to hear from my breeder but Sandy from Woodhaven Cavaliers advised to have the

Heart Auscultation and Eyes done.

Glad to hear they are both excellent speciaists.

Thanks for the input. :flwr:

I would also suggest getting at least their hearts and eyes checked - I know your boys are not going to be bred from, so the elbows and hips are not so relevant - other than you knowing their status and your breeder too - but they would need a GA for those, so that is a consideration.

It would be helpful to advise your breeder of the results - this should help her make future decisions in her breeding program.

Good luck with the tests - and well done you on planning to have them done :flwr: :flwr:
