Sporn Double Dog Leash?

Have any of you used the Sporn Double Dog Leash? They sound good because of the anti-tangle coupling device (swivel), but I did read one comment on Amazon that the coupling device was a bit heavy for this persons Shih Tzu and Yorkie. I am wondering if it would be too heavy for our CKCSs?

This is the promo blurb

The Double-Dog Leash is the world's first totally adjustable leash for walking two dogs! You have the option of walking two dogs close together, two dogs far apart; or two dogs of different sizes. The Double-Dog Leash straps are made of quality nylon webbing. All parts are made of durable custom nickel-plated steel for reliable strength and reduced weathering. The leash features a no-tangle design, and the patented Sporn Adjusti-Buckle.

I have that leash, it's really not heavy and the attachment to your collar is really easy to open and yet secure. I had gotten the bargain of the century on them too. They don't tangle at all. I know some other people like the petwalker plus but this one works great as long as they walk nicely.

I know people who really like the Sporn as well.

Basically anything with a swivelling coupler will do the job, a cheapie as well as something more costly. From then on, it's the level of comfort and length of the lead preferred and overall look and feel.

I like my leads to be no longer than about 4-5 ft and I like a padded handle.

I LOVE my Larz lead -- I can walk up to four dogs on it and can make variable length leads or three separate leads.... and the softest most comfortable handle I have ever used. The flexi sections mean your arm doesn't get strained by pulling dogs as well. It was worth every last penny. With three they do tangle now and then but you just flip the handle thru to detangle; it is so much easier to walk three dogs on one lead rather than a handful of leads. It would be a fantastically comfortable lead for two dogs and they wouldn't tangle at all.

I've been eyeing the Larz multi-dog lead (Z-tandem) and I'm delighted to see your recommendation of their product. The flex aspect is particularly appealing. I just may go for it now. :)

Ok, I've been fighting it all day but I think i'm going to have to order one of these now icon_whistling

There's a wait on them -- they handmake each one. But eventually it will arrive and you will have lots of fun clipping all the modular bits together and trying different combinations. If you get more dogs you can buy more modular bits. icon_whistling Stephen the price is particularly good at the current exchange rate. Worth keeping in mind that if you get say the two-dog system you actually can make up many different leads -- two long singles, or two short singles, or one long double, or one short double. It may look expensive initially but it is actually very cost effective. I like the look of their harnesses too -- might get one to see how it works.

Karlin I went through the site and finally decided on the triple leash, I pondered the colour for an age before making my decision and when I went to the checkout I discovered that they don't deliver to Ireland :sl*p: I have emailed them to see if they will quote a shipping cost :xfngr:

Caraline, I have the coupler that Charleen has and like it a lot. Our dogs are about the same size and it works great....although I have not tried other couplers.

Have a good day!

Hey thanks for the feedback everyone. Gee that Larz one looks most excellent. Going to go search their web site to see if they ship to Australia.

Karlin after your Dyson report and this, I can tell you were a child who loved Lego...am I right?!! ;)

I thought I'd give you all an update on the Sporn double lead. I got one through eBay and I am very pleased with it. The anti-tangle device is great. I gave it a test run with Sonny & the crazy Beau who isn't totally leash trained. Even though Beau did loop-the-loops & kept jumping on Sonny, the leash never got tangled. I am very pleased with it & can recommend it to anyone who is considering a double leash.
