MRI in Ireland?
Is there anywhere in Ireland where they MRI for SM in Ireland and if so how much do they charge?

UCD has a machine, but it is expensive, around €1000.
The best option is Geoff Skerritt's Chestergates Hospital in Chester in the UK -- going over to Wales by ferry and driving there as it's a short distance. He does the low cost scans -- last time I checked it was £175 each for groups of three or more for breeders, though they charged me this for my two, very kindly.
I list contact details for him and all the other low cost schemes in the UK on my SM website here:
The Midlands CKCS Club in the UK is doing an extra low cost scanning day with him -- it is supposed to be for members but maybe if they cannot fill the whole quotient they might let an outside breeder take advantage. You could contact them to see perhaps.
Skerritt doesn't do a full anaesthesia but a light anesthesia. They go thru the MRI with you, give you copies of the scan, and issue a grading cert. You could also see if any of the other UK clinics might suit ferry connections or travel plans.
I do recommend making the trip because the Irish vets don't do the certs that you want to get. Also for the price of a single Irish scan you can get 3-4 dogs done in the UK.
The grades are explained here: http://sm.cavaliertalk.com/breeding/.../breeding.html
Some background to it is here: http://sm.cavaliertalk.com/breeding/breedandpups
If you want to know any more or discuss any aspect of my own experience in getting scans, PM me and I will give you my phone number.
