What does a red thumbs down, on a post reply, mean?

If you have the function turned on in your control panel you can put emoticons next to the subject line. Some people use thumbs up to indicate something good, while some use thumbs down to indicate something not so good, but it really is just up to the person making the post to decide what they want it to mean... it is open to interpretation I guess.
