Default Pictures on a Sunny Fall Day

Here are all the cavaliers today relaxing in our yard and putting up with my requests to SIT and STAY.
    The 2 best group shots:

    My GRAZING cavaliers

The Brick house across the road was built in the early 1800's.
In the mid 1800's the past owners were a part of the underground railroad.
They hid slaves in the basement in a hidden room, on their way to freedom in Canada.

The tree trunks that you see behind the dogs are apple trees and every
night the deer come up to eat apples. Any every night Luke and Merry
go outside to bark at them and tell them to get off our lawn.

What great photos!!!! Loved all the captions.

VERY cool about the house across the street! We live in a house that is extremely old (built before 1852, although we do not know the exact date) and when we were renovating we found a secret tiny room...behind a removable cabinet. It would have been big enough for up to 3 people to stand in. We are somewhat along the underground railroad route, so we always wondered if maybe.... ?? Or the tiny room could have been used to hide things...??

Wow I love the history and stories about both your houses! Those fall colours are so lovely and the dogs match perfectly!

Lovely pics and what fantastic tales about the houses and the underground railway!! Sort of like houses over here having "priest holes" where the priests of the "opposite" faith (for wont of a better explanation) could be hidden when there were "spot" checks!

Love the group pic of them all, must have taken ages to get them all lined up on the bench like that!!
