I would like remind UK list members that the Neurology Dept. of the Royal Veterinary College in Hertfordshire is running a trial to test a new pain relief drug for dogs with syringomyelia
If any one on this list has an affected cavalier or knows anyone that
has a dog with symptoms please let them know. This is one way we can help our dogs that suffer now & those that will suffer in the future
The RVC are looking for forty dogs diagnosed with SM, or displaying
SM symptoms. They will give free MRIs for cavaliers that seem to fit
their criteria.
They will only accept one dog per household, so I am taking my
youngest SM dog Tommy for assessment next Tuesday.
He was MRI'd three years ago but, if he is suitable for the trial, he
will will need another scan to assess the extent of his condition now.
Email me if you want more details or go to
http://www.rvc.ac.uk/Hospitals/QMH/Referrals/ClinicalTrials/Index.cfm
I would also like to remind any members of the UK Cavalier
Club on this list that you can send internet Seasons Greetings to your friends and support the Cavalier Club Research Fund at the same time.
