I am so sorry to keep bothering you all but I love my little kaytee SO much and I want what is best for her, and I do worry way too much!
Well as you may have read in my other posts kaytee has a heart murmur, for a long time we didnt treat her for this, it was strange my vet and another that saw her said they heard a murmur then when I went back another time they couldnt, she had always had a cough it sounds like a dry cough but often went into her opening up her mouth and kind of wretching (She does have a elongated soft pallet but the vet said it isnt this) it was never in the day time and I found it weird that kaytee would be fine in my living room then we would go into our bedroom and she would start coughing
So for a while we and the vet assumed it was bronchitis, then we had a xray done on her and the vet said she is convinced it isnt bronchitis and that her heart is a funny shape on the left hand side, I could quite clearly see that from the xray my vet then said it must be fluid making kate cough.
Much to my disbelief (I didnt want to believe kate had a bad heart) and my total fear of giving pills I knew I had to listen to the vet and she went on fortikor and frusemide.
Her cough really improved and at first it was almost gone...but now it is slowly creeping back, I guess I will have to speak with my vet again.
But the thing that bugs me is she is fine at night, we are up till about 1am and hardly hear her cough, then we go to bed and she starts almost straight away, the room does have dark patches on the roof (I am going to borrow a dehumidifier from my dad but kate has dry eye and I am afraid to have it on all night with that??)
But I wonder still till this day....is it not her heart? then why did her cough improve with the pills??? Yet why does she cough in that dam bedroom?
I live in a one bedroom flat so we cant test sleeping anywhere else, does damp/dust effect the heart?
SO SORRY TO GO ON THANK YOU AS ALWAYS XX
