Vetmedin does seem to act very quickly. I wonder why your vet chose the more unusual variations on the dieretic and ace inhibitors.
Simply because enalapril is the ACE inhibitor they usually use (there is very little difference) and his chest was clear so he doesn't need acute diuresis to drain his chest (which is what fruesemide is used for) but just needs the diuretic to prevent this.
Vets have their favorite choice of drugs just like doctors!!!
