Hi everyone
I'm back from holiday about 2weeks ago
My baby boy Nash was so sick on the plane, very high temp(40`c)
for 12hrs flight he cried only ones, what a brave boy!!
we went A&En in London, nearly missed the flight to Ireland:eek:
he's much better now,got an ear infection n it's getting there slowly.
that's about my baby boy..
My dog Presley was fine in our friend's house n also love being back home

Now,I got a cav boy he's nearly 5month old
some of you know that I was looking for an older cav rather than a very young pup,he's still young for me but 5month is better than 5wks for me
we named him Harry,he's Tri colour
I saw his mum n dad,the family i got Harry from is a breeder
not a bad breeder he seems but not great,Harry stinks n very very timid
but his coat, teeth, nails are good condition n trimmed+vet card
but I'll take him to the vet tmrw.
he's gorgeous little fella,he loves Presley infact he only lets Presley to go near him,he's very nervous, run off from me n others
It's normal to be nervous, isn't it?
I'm just trying to ignore him til he settles in

I have some questions guys
what food is the best?(the guy said he fed him pedigree but I want the best for him)
vitamins/fish oil?(presley has cod oil, would it be ok?)
er..oh and in Harry's eyes there're some sticky things, tiny bit,
I'm going to go to the vet tmrw but is there anything i can do?

thanks guys n sorry it's a bit too long to read(y)

You're doing the right thing by going to the vet. Getting the pup health checked and vaccinations up to date is a good start.Foodwise, I avoid the supemarket foods and feed Arden Grange which is available from the vet in Killeagh(Glenbower) or if you venture to the maxi zoo store in Midleton you can buy something like Royal canin.
I expect your vet will recommend a type of food, they usually have a stock of premium foods in their surgery and I think if it's available locally maybe that's the best one to go with.
Can you pm me with the breeder where you got him?

Congratulations on the new puppy. Yes, you are doing the right thing by taking him to the vet tomorrow. He will need to be vaccinated, put on a worming regimen, maybe have something done about his eyes if they are a bit mucky. If he is stinkey, a nice gentle warm bath might be a good starting point. If he is nervous he will probably hate it, but he needs to get used to being bathed anyway. Just be sure to dry him well & keep him warm.

The timidness may be a number of things. If he breeder wasn't terribly caring (which from his condition, may be the case) then he might not have been socialised. Then of course, it is a bit scarey coming to a new home, being separated from litter mates & mother. He will adjust in time. How long that will be, largely depends upon his level of confidence before you acquired him.

Let us know how he goes at his vet visit tomorrow. Hope he gets a good report and that if there are any issues they are just little ones that can be quickly remedied.

I am probably can't make any great recommendations re commercial dog food as the product here in Australia are probably different to what they are in your country. I have heard others on this forum singing the praises of Royal Canin & James Wellbeloved. We feed our guys fresh meat & raw meaty bones, plus some veg, fruit & a little grain, which is a popular way of feeding in Australia, but is viewd with suspicion by some folk in some other countries.

I got Maverick when he was about 6 months old and he was very timid. He was for the first few day and all he did was sleep.

update on Harry

Thanks for replies,guys:)
I took him to the vet
and he's very healthy,good coat,good skin,good teeth
eyes have no problems and got all vacs
he's still very timid
only sleeping,he wants to be near by Presley
but Presley wants to be near by me so Harry decided not to be near by either of us.
well,most importantly he's healthy,that's a good thing!

I'll post a pic of him in a few days:paw::paw:
