I like the Maya collars on that site, very colourful! And it just so happens that Jasmine doesn't have a collar yet...........

Hi Claire,
I'd worry a bit that the tag hanging down that extra length would make them more likely to get caught in things (like air vents, between decking boards, on chain link fence). I say this because I have had tags get caught twice in years past (once on a chain link fence...I wondered where they had disappeared off the dog's collar, and found them later, hanging on the fence when I was weed-eating). She was a big dog and fortunately had bent the tag clip and freed herself. A couple years ago, my Malamute, Kaya had her tags dangle down through the air vent, turn sideways and entrap her. She is a big dog, and she yanked the vent out of the floor and was flinging it all around in panic until her breakaway collar released. (I was right there and saw that one happen). A small dog wouldn't have the strength. I use Chinook breakaway collars now, and small tags that have little protruding that can get snagged. I began using the collars after having Kaya got her lower jaw stuck under another dog's collar wrestling, the collar twisting and coming very close to strangling the other dog before I could get them apart. If I hadn't been there....I shutter to think.

I use the clips for their harnesses only, as you can see here:


It just makes it so much easier to transfer the tags and they don't always have their collars on when we go to the beach.

Ah, very good idea. I totally see now. And I apologize if I sounded bossy or judgemental. I just would hate to say nothing, if I could prevent an accident by doing so.

On that note, I think I might look for some, too. I am sure our Home Depot or Lowes has a wide selection of sizes. Not sure if you guys have those overseas.

I literally ordered from them 2 minutes ago I almost bought some of the clips.

I have bought the clips from them before and use them for lots of household stuff too. I am almost out. If I order more, I will let you know and I will throw in a few more for you. How many do you want? The postage is not that bad. Lani or I can throw them in the mail.
