We got Amberella as a ten week old puppy. She was from an "accidental" litter and when the puppies were eight weeks old, the breeder gave them away to all the local children. The people who ended up with our lovely girl kept her for two weeks, then decided they didn't want a "big dog"
She was originally believed to be a German Shepherd cross, which was what we wanted. She has matured to be a much smaller dog than expected and not German Shepherd at all: we believe she is a whippet x staffie! It doesn't matter to us - we love her regardless, and have since researched both breeds for possible health risks.
She's now almost fourteen months old, and one of the friendliest dogs I have ever owned. She is so sociable and well-socialised that she believes all dogs and people are just as friendly, and she wants to love everyone... which can be a bit of a problem when people and dogs don't want to be loved. Luckily, she has excellent recall!
The first time I saw her:
Ten weeks old, on her second day at home with us
Twelve weeks old... expanding her palate (it was a frozen bit of broccoli that had escaped from the freezer!)
Wrestling with Sam, her best friend
Learning ball etiquette, aged three months
And forgetting it just as quickly!
"Who's at the door?" (four months)
Still squeezing into the same bed!
On our first family holiday, aged 9 months old, and looking all grown up
My boyfriend has some pictures between nine months and now which I need to have a dig around for. Hope the photos aren't too huge!
