• If you're a past member of the board, but can't recall your password any more, you don't need to set up a new account (unless you wish to). As long as you recall your old login name, you can log in with that user name then select 'forgot password' and the board will email you at your registration email, to let you reset your password.

My rabbit is losing a lot of hair

I was out in the shed on Friday and noticed his the hair on his front neck is all gone. The patch is about the size of the palm of a hand. This happened before on the top of his head bit it was much smaller. he's in great form otherwise. Is this normal?
 
I wonder if it's caused by mites? Does your vet treat rabbits? When Colin's daughter had her bunny, we tried to find a rabbit specialist, but our regular vet was fine with him (the bunny).
 
I have 2 rabbits and a couple of months ago they lost hair but it was like a perfect circle.....after testing for mites,ringworm etc..... i was told by my vet that they were just moulting and to keep an eye on it.
The bald patches cleared up in a few months.
I would take your bunny to the vet just incase there are mites or something else going on for a quick check over.
