Update on harley

Just to let you know Ive just had harley weighed at the vets and he has gone from 13.6kg, to 12.8 in just under two weeks, im so pleased and proud of him, for those of you who havent read my previous posts harley was diagnosed with hip dysplasia which was so bad in one hip that he needs a hip replacement. The vet was sure that the surgeon would not operate with harleys weight and he was put on a diet and new exercise regieme, he has another appointment in a fortnights time, and im waiting to hear from the vet when he can refer harley to the specialist.

YAY and way to go ! That's great! :) I should send Kosmo and Faith to you as they could both stand to lose a bit as well  But congratulations - it's a hard task to accomplish :flwr:

Congrats :) You've both done really well so far.Its soooo hard to cut out those little treats when their little eyes are looking directly up into yours.

Its very hard, but my dogs health is as stake so its easy really (if you get what i mean) Im even looking at dog classes thanks to you lot, he has been a bit fed up with all these treats and titbits being with held. Ive also scutenized his dog food (what a load of rubbish) and he is on arden grange (light) and James wellbeloved (light) both approved by his vet, and very small quantities of it, i dont know how much you feed your dogs, but he had 20 gms in the morning, and 40 gms in the evening.

I'm pleased to hear you've made such good progress.I like Arden grange for cavaliers.Daisy was on it until she was about 20 months when suddenly she just wouldn't eat it any more. She never gained a pound of excess weight while on it.(There was no scratching on it either now that I recall). My one criticism of it is the size of the kibble for small muzzles. She's gained quite a bit of weight on Royal Canin as she loves it.
She's gone from 6Kg to 8.5 kg and I wouldn't like to see her any fatter. She's a small cavalier.:)
. Hope your referral comes through quickly as you're making such a committment to slimming him down. He's such a handsome boy in his photographs.
Sins

Not heard yet sins, sophie the vetenary nurse who saw harley and weighed him yesterday will speak with the vet about it, he has another weight check in two weeks and ill see what they say then, they wont make an referral until they are sure that the surgeon will consider doing the operation, its £200 just to see this guy and the vet said wit harley weighing 13.6 kg he will just say go away and lose some weight.
The vet said see sophie in a couple of weeks and have harley weighed and ill converse with her. So what do i do now???
