Unhappy Today, Turned from Bad to Worse

So tonight at a little after ten, I went to go and check on Teddy. He had been acting sluggish over the last few hours and I was growing worried because I haven't heard from him. He had just come back from a visit to Texas, we drove ten hours two days ago and then drove back, from choosing a little sister for him. He just sat in his carrier like he always does and slept, but when it came time to get out and go inside for dinner once we got home he was acting kind of funny so I thought I'd keep a close eye on him.

I'm just getting home and thought I'd let everyone know that I put my baby to sleep tonight. According to the vets, Teddy had a brain hemorrhage a little after nine and although we were able to save him, his brain had gone without oxygenated blood for so long that he had become a vegetable.

The vets told me when I rescued Teddy that his epilepsy might be a problem. That this was a possibility someday, but I never expected it to happen so soon. He only turned four a week ago.

Now Anna isn't going to have a brother to play with. I'm at a loss of what to do. I paid today in full for Anna, but I don't know if I'm ready for another Cavvy.

Please keep Teddy in your prayers.

So very sorry to read your sad news, you must feel so lost without your Teddy but he is at peace & the hard decision you had to make was obviously what you had to do
It may not be the way you would have wanted to introduce a new cav to your home but I'm sure Anna will bring you much happiness & will make you smile again, enjoy her.

I am so, so sorry to hear of your loss

Only you can decide whether you are ready to take Anna now or not, maybe it may help you to have her companionship but then again you may not feel ready.

I will keep you and Teddy in my thoughts.

Anna may bring you comfort at this sad time.

I'm very sorry to hear about Teddy. It's so hard to cope with an unexpected loss like this.As for Anna, perhaps it's fate intervening and she was meant to be a part of your life at this time.I hope she brings you comfort and you grow to love her as much as you loved Teddy.
