Very sweet! I love your profile picture too where all three are sitting on the floor. Pickle sure seems to have fit in well!

She has fitted in unbelievably well, we are so pleased for her, Freya my eldest akita, had always had a sad look on her face, since Poppy arrived she has been like a pup herself! they are so gentle with her, absolutely fantastic!

she is a lovely little lady and totally spoilt rotten! used to her lead & her training is going really well, still having night time presents! just thankful they are not akita size!!!

I have nicknamed her pickle as she has such a funny personality, she loves her walks & is building them up nicely! no more jumping up to be picked up!

oh and she likes to pinch Thors food - big soft ta ta just stands there and lets her!

They are so sweet. I call my Bella- Pickle all the time! I call her that because she always gets herself in a "pickle". Which means she gets into trouble... a lot! Your doggies are just precious!

She is really cute! Just as a recommendation though -- it could be risky to allow a smaller one like Poppy, to eat from another dog's dishes. This may be tolerated for a long time and then one dog can unexpectedly go for the other and the result could be devastating even if the larger dog only means to give a mild warning. Eating from another's dishes is one of the most high risk behaviours for group dog households-- that is why so many trainers say to feed dogs in crates or separated by distance or other barriers and always remove food after the meal. Also just as a health point -- as so many of us can attest this tend to be a gluttonous breed and most cavaliers will eat and eat and eat if given access to food, which along with obesity can cause pancreatitis and other serious problems -- so if free-feeding has been the norm for the akitas, it would be good idea to shift all three dogs to a set meal period when they are offered food then remove leftovers. It may take the dogs a few days to realise the food isn't going to be left around all day but they will quickly switch over. This is a better approach anyway as then you can monitor food intake and tell more easily if a dog is not eating well or off food.

Please keep posting pics as they are such a great mix of dogs!

thanks Karlin i do totally agree, it was a silly thing to do.

to be honest the photo was taken just because i thought it was funny, i was crouched by them.

I always supervise meal times, and there bowls are removed straight after they leave them, they are all at different ends of the kitchen, touch wood i have never had a food aggression issue with any of them, but like you say it is better to be safe than sorry. i also seperate when giving high reward treats too, just incase!

we have been amazingly lucky that we have had no upsets between the three of them, but i know that something could trigger them off & as they are all still settling this is not a risk i should have taken.
