Harvey went to the vet last night for a general check-up & the vet wasn't in the least concerned about his leg. Harvey certainly isn't aware he has one front leg without a paw. I have to have eyes in the back of my head because he's so fast when he's determined to go somewhere. Last night my partner put his foot up to stop him passing & Harvey just used it as a step & climbed over.

Unfortunately he's been suffering from a few crawlies & ear mites in one ear but we have them under control. He also has minor colitis so is on a bland diet. The vet gave him 3 injections & I came away with tablets for the colitis, worming tablet & ear drops.

He's a bundle of fun & is loved by everyone who sees him.

I'll be making slideshow videos & ordinary videos so will post the YouTube links when done. I get married in 2 weeks & Harvey will be coming on our honeymoon ... yes I got the priorities right

Good luck Karen. Having met Tinks I know you'll adore her. She's also a bundle of fun & if the fosterers hadn't told me I wouldn't have known she was blind. I do know they wanted her to go to a home with a dog so fingers crossed !!!!

Default Yet more sad little girls

It's really great to read that some of you have managed to adopt Cavvies from Many Tears - and good luck to those who are still hoping and trying.

Good news that BORNEO and TINKERBELLE are both reserved again, but the need just goes on and on and today there are 3 new sad faces:

    KAYLA

03-09-09 Kayla is 4 year old and an ex breeding girl. She has come in with 3 other ex breeding cavs. They are all very sweet patient and love the company of other cavs as that is what they have known all their lives. They have never lived in a house so are not house trained or lead trained. We find the easiest way for them to learn (and the way that is the least stressful for them) is for them to be adopted to a homes that already have another another kind sweet dog for them to copy. Therefore please do not apply for them unless you already have a dog or dogs who are kind, gentle and who will be their friends.

    KRISSY

03-09-09 Krissy is 6 year old and an ex breeding girl.

    KISS

03-09-09 Kiss is 6 year old and an ex breeding girl.

    Unhappy

There is another girl also called Koala.
They are all looking for homes still today.
I wasnt the right homefor little Tinks as they wanted someone who was home all day.
I applied for Koala over the weekend and called the centre today. We were really getting somewhere as we could visit her this weekend. I mentioned that Ruby has SM and after everything it is the SM that will stop us from rescueing an ex breeding dog.
As her future is unsure and they thought that we had enough to cope with already with out adding a dog issues in to the mix. Its very sad as Ruby has such a wonderful temprement and nature and would be perfect for bringing one of these dogs round.
I understand sooooo much that after everything these little dogs have been through that they deserve so much but its frustrating that after everything its the SM yet again stopping us from getting another Cav.
(the first reason being that I cant bring myself to get a pup with the small chance of having SM)

strange reason for not allowing you to adopt an ex-breeder, but then I guess they can bring their heartaches too.

I was allowed to adopt an ex stud dog from them 3 years ago when Cailean had advanced MVD, but maybe their policies have changed?

Sorry you've been disappointed - I'm sure if you keep your eyes open on this board, the right rescue dog will turn up for you.
