A note about the heart clinic ******Dr. Sonya G. Gordon, DVM, DVSc, DACVIM (Cardiology). She is also interested in finding dogs for her study that is being conducted at A&M

There will be information available to dog owners that may be interested in taking part in a clinical study at Texas A&M in College Station. The clinical study would require visits to Texas A&M about once every 6 months. Visits must be on Mon-Friday.

Dr. Gordon is interested the the following types of dogs for her heart study at Texas A&M and will be completing heart exams on older small breed dogs (< 40 lb), mixed breed (6 years or older) that are relatively healthy. Dogs cannot be taking furosemide [lasix], or pimobendan [Vetmedin].

Dr. Gordon will screen potential study candidates by auscultation (listening with stethoscope) to determine if the dog is potential a candidate for the HECTOR Study. Cost FREE

This is a great opportunity to be proactive in the health of your cavalier as early detection and treatments could possibly prolong the life of your dog.

Cost of the cardiac clinic is $25 for cavaliers.

OFA forms will be available for OFA certification.

:jmp:Janet, it was a very nice event. I know a lot of work went into putting it on. There was a great turn-out, and everone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was so much fun seeing so many cavaliers (all colors and sizes) in one place. The speakers were very informative. Great job!!!!!

Wish we had something like that here. I have to take my boys to the Samoyed Club heart clinic & I had to beg them to let us come.

A Very Special Thanks …

To all who joined us at our Fun Match and Health Clinic in September it was a huge success!
