Rain coat recommendations?

I have not had any luck finding a raincoat to fit my tri-color 2 yr old Sophie. Cavaliers are LONG. She measures 18" from neck to tail. When I buy for that measurement, the coat swallows her up around the girth. When I fit her for her girth (19"), the coat is way too long.
Has anyone found a solution to this?
I am tempted to buy one and pay to have it altered.
i need help! I live in Seattle and it rains a lot here!

You can buy a lot of designs that have toggles that can be tightened. I use a couple of Yap brand coats but don't know if they sell those in the US. I still haven't found the perfect raincoat though!

THe best coat I have found are RC Pets (you can google site). THeir rain slickers are a great fit, wonderful colors and NO TOGGLES as they are very dangerous, they can get caught and really cause a problem if your dog gets snagged or they snap back and hit your dog.

It would cost a bit more money, but perhaps you could buy the larger one and take it to an alterations shop.

I'm so glad I know how to sew, because I've had to make alterations to dog coats in the past.

I have yet to find a coat that fits the Cavalier better.
