Hey everyone.... Just wondering what I can do to improve my dogs diet?
My dogs are eating a large variety of different kibbles by Natures Variety. They are currently getting a variety of there Lamb, Turkey & duck, Rabbit, Venison, Salmon & Chicken.
I also add in fresh carrots, a little plain yogurt, a fish oil supplement and I occasionally ground flax seed to there diet.
My Shepard gets CoQ10 & a daily vitamin supplement with lutein, glucosamine chondroitin supplement & a bilberry supplement. Does anyone give similar supplements to there Cavaliers? If so do they even need to be started in a 6 month old puppy? My Shepard is turning 7 and has been showing mild cateracts that is why I started her on some of them. I sometimes wonder if I had started her younger that she might not have started showing cateracts at the age of 5. I want to make sure my Cavalier gets the best diet possible to help with his future health.
I don't like the idea of raw meats because I have a toddler in the house and worry about Salmonella risk.
What other things I can mix in to give them a good varied diet? I know some people feed fresh fruits and veggies but I have no idea where to start.
Thanks in advance for any info!
