OMG Lexie at 5 months is how big Chamberlain was when I bought him home! She is a bitty baby! So precious though! Thank you so much for posting, I love Cavalier puppy pictures!

How did Lexie do on her first plane ride? Chamberlain did really well when we flew home for Christmas! He only whimpered a few times when we were taxing out to the runway, and then he fell right to sleep. I think the motion lulled him to sleep!

Thanks!

Lexie loves to fly. I used to travel between North Carolina and Kentucky for school and so she flew all the time. I always worried it was hard on her and uncomfortable but she never even so much as whined on the plane. Every time she saw her flying kennel she'd jump right in ready to go. I've since then transferred schools and I'm in KY full time. Plus since I have Sprinkles too I don't like to fly with them anymore since you can only take 1 dog at a time. When I do travel I leave them with my mom. I hate to separate them on top of me being gone. I know as long as their together their happy.

And can I just say that Chamberlain in absolutely precious! He is such a handsome boy!

Holy teeny tiny! Lexie is a cutie little girl! 1lb at 11 weeks is really small! I thought Coco was small being 4lbs at 12 weeks when we got her, you have us beat!

How much does she weigh now out of curiosity?

She sure has grown into a beautiful lady, thanks for sharing these great pics :)

Lexie is about 8-9 pounds now. My mom has a male Cav and when we got him at 10 weeks he was 5 and 1/2 pounds! I was in shock when I went to get Lexie and she was smaller than my moms 2 pound chihuahua (he's the black chihuahua in the 2nd picture). It was such a bad situation. I researched her breeder up and down and she seemed very reputable. Of course this was my first dog purchase on my own so I never even thought to visit and interview with the breeder in person before getting Lexie. Our vet told me if I hadn't gotten her when I did she wouldn't have made it. The lady was definitely a backyard "show" breeder... meaning she took great care of the show quality puppies and didn't bother with the "pets". Luckily she got what was coming to her since we reported her to multiple law enforcement agencies for animal neglect and abuse.

That was one of the main reasons I joined this board! I love all the information on here. It I'm sure is such a vital resource for anyone looking for a reputable Cavalier breeder who cares about the breed...not the money.

Luckily Lexie is perfect and healthy now! Just a tiny princess. And because of her I have recommended so many people to reputable breeders and rescues to be sure they don't end up supporting backyard breeders or puppy mills

I have a similar story, except with my previous dog that was a Rottweiler. He was my first dog I bought on my own and I made all the mistakes :\ We lost him at 3 years old because he ended up being so sick, terribly heartbreaking, and the most expensive dog ever because of all the vet bills!

Luckily he had the best personality ever and really changed a lot of peoples points of views on "vicious" dog breeds, because he was a gem.

I am so sorry to hear that! I can't imagine but I know a lot of what you must have felt. There were times those first few weeks I had Lexie where I kept thinking to myself that not only did I pay a ton of money for her...now I had paid double that in vet bills! Of course she was worth every penny but it was a difficult time. Again, I am so sorry about your baby! That breaks my heart. It sounds like though that he definitely had a great purpose to his life by showing people what a great breed a Rottweiler can be!

It's definitely difficult the first time you buy a dog on your own. I really had no idea...I now make it a point to educate as many people as possible about how important it is to research breeders! I actually just won an award at my university for a paper I wrote educating people on puppy mills. It's such an important cause that affects everyone.
