He had a blood test and everything came back fine, and he hasn't had any more seizures since the last one, we're going to the vets soon so we'll see what he has to say.

Tiz good news. Pray he doesn't have anything like that again, maybe it was just a one off, sometimes that happens to people too.

That is correct - idiopathic epilepsy is a disease of exclusion - you rule out everything else and end up with the diagnosis if the seizures continue. So all tests are basically normal - including blood chemistry.
