D-Day...

I guess we can call today d-day, as today is the day Benji is getting his x-rays done.
We dropped him off at the vets at 9 this morning and i've been lost without him. I've been wiling away the hours by working out and playing on my piano (which i think is the first time i've played it since christmas of last year).
Anyway, at some point soon we're going to find out what's going on with Benjis back leg.
I'm so nervous and i miss my baby boy. The house is far too quiet. I don't like it. :(
But only about 3 or 4 hours now until i can go collect him and about 45 mins before i can call the vets and check he's okay!!

I know how you are feeling. Sadly I have been there many times myself. The waiting and not knowing. It won’t be long before Benji is back home with you. Thinking of you and Benji and hoping for a good outcome.

Sorry you are going through this. I hope sweet little Benji is going to bee ok. :xfngr:

Do hope it all went well and you shall soon have some answers

The waiting and not knowing is very hard, but worth it so that Benji can get the correct treatment. Hopefully he will soon be safely home with you.

Thanks for all your well wishes. :)
It does seem as though Benji is going to need surgery, but we're going to see if the insurance claim for his x-rays goes through smoothly before we start talking surgery options and such. The vet did say though he would bring in a specialist to do the operation which sounded good, except it would cost about £1000 which we don't have as just the £272 that his x-rays cost was a real push.
Anyway Benji is doing well. He's still a little sleepy from the anesthetic but he was like this after he got neutered.

It's good he's back home with ye now and you know what has to be done. Maybe the surgery can be put off for a little while until the insurance/finances are sorted out?

Just thinking of you and Benji...sending all our prayers your way. I will keep my fingers crossed that insurance covers everything you need.

I think I missed the posts about what is going on with little Benji, would you mind refreshing for my sake? Obviously it is his leg, but what happened?

Glad he is home with you now, getting all the extra cuddles!

For the past 2 months or so Benji will start limping and not putting his left back leg on the ground. We took him to the vets at the end of May, where the vet said she thought it was a sprain and gave him some anti-inflammatory meds. She said that if the problem persists to take him back. So we did and the vet said it was clear that in the space of about two/three weeks the knee joint had defiantely become looser and she thought it might be a luxating patella. As Benji is a fidget and wouldn't hold still, she suggested getting x-rays done. Now we know he's going to need surgery because the bone below his knee has moved slightly or something like that.

I understand totally what you are going through. Mimi had the surgery for Luxating Patella a week and half ago and we had to wait too from when she had her x rays to see if the insurance would pay, we got a pre-autorisation done so the vet would agree to bringing in the surgeon to do it. The surgeon did say that we were luck to catch hers quite early because all her feathers hadnt come in so we could see the little wiggle of the knee when she walked but if she had more feathers we may not have causght it so soon and it could have been worse. I must admit the waiting was horrible, the house was so quiet and there wasnt the little face in the window to greet me when i got home it was strange even though we had only just dropped her off its weird. I hope everything does well with the insurance and the surgery. keep us updated.

Thank you for explaining...I am sorry to hear about this :( Hang in there, I will keep my prayers coming your way and fingers crossed for the insurance!!!
