Rehomed Boy won't stop trying to "hump" Molly....Advice needed for a friend please!!
A friend of mine on facebook has rehomed an unwanted Cavalier...a beautiful tri boy... He looks to be between two and three and is castrated. Her existing Cavalier Molly is 15 months (Spayed). since they brought the newbie home he has been trying to hump molly (Sorry there is no other word I can use to describe it from what she says.) She had little info on the chap. She brought him home yesterday and he had to go to the groomers today as he was really matted and the humping has got worse since then.
A behaviourist has recommended a water spray and a sharp "leave it" and this seems to be helping a little. Molly is laying down or trying to hide but not told the little boy off...
My friend is really needing some advice on what to do about this....I said it may be stress related...lots of new experiences.. She thinks maybe a dominance thing... Apart from this he is utterly adorable...
Ideas and comments gratefully received!!!! Many thanks )
