Some good news announced today..........The Wellcome Trust are granting £400,000 for an Integrated Veterinary Training Fellowship over a period of six years.
The Candidate will be involved in studying cerebellar growth.

The more information the better for our cavaliers.

This is wonderful news! It is so important for there to be a range of research approaches to these monumental health issues and having a researcher looking at very early stage development on this project has been extremely interesting and has already produced some thought provoking results. It has been a good complement to the projects that were already under way and hopefully, an accelerated understanding of what is happening earlier on will provide some critical pieces of this complex puzzle.

It's helpful as well that this is a position funded over an extended period of time, as one of the problems is always that so many research projects get somebody but only for a year or 2.

GOOD NEWS FROM THE FOETAL TISSUE RESEARCH PROJECT

I have been at the Hospital for a Couple of Days, and have DVT ,been banned from the Computer for a while ,but just had to ask this Question,

Read the News about the FTR,but do wonder if looking for the Genes involved in the SM Problem in Cavaliers will also be included in this Research.

These Genes have got to be found.

Just had to ask this Question ,it is so very important ,every-thing depends on the Genes being found.

Bet

Sorry to hear you've been poorly Bet.

Yes it is extremely important that we find the genes but this research is NOT for that purpose, as Karlin states in your quote, a range of approaches are required.
