Omeprazole vs Cimetidine

I know this has been talked about before but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I know it is thought that omeprazole may help in some cases to slow down or reduce the formation of a syrinx.

I've also read that cimetidine my provide greater relief for some dogs.

My question is does cimetidine also help at hopefully slowing down the progression of the syrinx? Or does it just seem to reduce pain?

Is there any benefit to using one over the another? Or is it based on how each dog responds to the treatment?

Does cimetidine interfere with gabapentin or pregabalin?

I think it was on Brian's thread 'Daisy and her medication' that we had a long discussion about the relative merits of the two drugs and Clare Rusbridge's recommendation to give cematidine separately from gabapentin.
