Hi - I am new to this forum. I have a 3 yr old black and tan cavalier. Absolutely fine until I took him to the vet for a check for ear mites (our new puppy had them). When he came home he suddenly started darting and scurrying about, frantically trying to bite his bum and back leg. Very agitated. Since then he keeps on doing it. Took him back to the Vet who cleared an anal gland and gave him a little steroid injection and Fuciderm cream for his bottom which looked a little sore. He now seems generally distressed. He was really getting on well with his new puppy friend. I dont know if it is stress related (he was a stressed puppy when we got him) or if this could be the start of SM. What are the early signs and does it come on so quickly if this is SM. Help. Sonny's Mum
