IMPORTANT: nat'l US vet group recommends core vaccines every THREE years now
Slowly, slowly the professional bodies are finally making three year rather than annual core boosters the basic recommendation. Please make sure your own vet is aware that you want THREE YEAR schedules for all your dogs, not YEARLY core vaccinations.

Alos note they accept that immunity with some vaccines lasts 5-7 years so people may want to titer and give core elements even less frequently.
- The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) Canine Vaccination Task Force has issued updated vaccination guidelines for 2011.
- A highlight of the new guidelines: The three non-rabies core vaccines (distemper, parvo and adenovirus) are now recommended every 3 years instead of annually.
- Another highlight: The task force acknowledges that distemper and parvo vaccines provide immunity for at least 5 years and the adenovirus vaccine for at least 7 years.
