Just bringing this up as an update. I am a friend with Royston on Facebook and there was a status report saying he passed away last week due to a menigitis infection and was experiencing seizures.Rest in peace, Roi, you gave us such hope and joy.

Desrae, guardian of two tri-coloured cavaliers, Belle 3 years old and Bobby 1 year/8 months.

so desperately sad to see this news, he was a really special boy.
The rescue and then his family were absolutely wonderful and gave this wee man every chance at having a good healthy life, our thoughts are with them.
Roi was so determined and always battled on through all the setbacks.
Now running and playing with our bridge Angels, you will never be forgotten Roi you touched so very many lives.
I think we all remember this photo

run free little one
The time has come I think you know
the Lord is calling so I must go
I love you so much; I wish it wasn't so
I wish I could stay; I don't want to go
You're the best family a dog ever had
so kind and gentle never mean or mad
I'll never forget the day that we met
I was so lucky to become your pet
You opened your door and showed me your heart
I'll never forget you; we'll never part
You loved me and cared for me over the time
you taught me everything and took away my fears
The Lord is calling now I must go
but before I go I want you to know
I know it hurts to lose a friend

Better to light a candle for one lost dog than to curse the darkness of man's indifference. Saving just one dog won't change the world but it surely will change the world for that one dog.
I saw this sad news on facebook it is so upsetting, Roi had pulled through so much already. Run free little man xxx
Aileen what a beautiful poem.
