Picking up on Lisa and Elvis's experience of getting lost drivng through London (easily done!), an alternative is to avoid central London and go to West or East Croydon, or further out to Addington (near Bromley in Kent), park your car, and get a tram straight to Wimbledon! It runs every 20 minutes or so, costs a flat rate of £2.30, allows up to 2 dogs, and ends at Wimbledon Station, from where you can get a bus or taxi up Wimbledon Hill to Stone Lion. You can see the route and a timetable on the Transport for London website, which will help you decide the best place to connect with it. Even if you have to pay for parking, it will probably not cost as much as stopping and starting negotiating London - and will be a lot less stressful.
