Harley has to see Eye Specialist

At the weekend I noticed that Harleys left eye was watery but it didn’t look like an infection but it seemed smaller from time to time. Then it seemed ok again. I took him to the vets on Monday night and they put dye in the eye and there were no scratches or ulcers, he also took something that looked like tweezes to have a look under his lower eyelid. Nothing. No infection either. I ask the vet if it could be the medication he is on, he looked it up and said that no side effects like this are recorded with Lyrica. The vet said to keep an eye on it. Also when it was watery it had a funny strong smell to it. Ebonys eyes smell like that but she got no problems.

It doesn’t seem to be getting better so I am seeing the eye specialist tomorrow. I am so worried poor Harley has been through so much last year he really could do with a break and so could I.

Oh dear, I do hope it's nothing serious. It's just another thing for you to worry about, as if you need anymore worries. Let us know how it goes.

Apart from the smell, Oliver's eyes get like that - shrinking back into his head - when he's in strong sunlight and his photophobia kicks in. This seems to be due to pressure from his dilated ventricles (or possibly something else), which interferes with the functioning of the pupils, which close slowly and incompletely and therefore let in too much light. The eyes sink back in an effort to protect them - and because the light hurts. Yet another of the myriad symptoms of CM/SM...

Hope the eye specialist can sort it.

Oh Sabby, you could really do without this.

Poor Harley, I do hope it is something that is easily sorted out.

Really nice to meet you and your dogs today. I hope everything goes well tomorrow with the eye specialist.
Sending you get well soon and good luck wishes just in case. :)

It was nice to meet you too; well we meet before 2 years ago and didn’t know it.
Oliver is gorgeous and so sweet. He certainly likes my girls.

I am really sorry Sabby, you have certainly had a lot to deal with. Sending you hugs and a big kiss for Harley.

He did indeed!
Thinks he's quite the Casanova my little boy. He has yet to learn that pretty much every lady he meets isn't interested! ;)
Hope to catch up again soon. Will be thinking about you both today.
