The work of the Cavalier Matters team at Crufts was just phenomenal, raising over £5000 total, of which £3000 has been very generously donated to Rupert's Fund. We have also had a steady stream of donations over recent months from so many different people and organizations, including many people here who donated through our last auction (and the next one is about to begin! Another chance to get more wonderful things and also help contribute towards cavalier health!).
The total raised now is really extraordinary:
******* £20845.52 *******
Which equates to
$33,082 or
€24,928 !!!!!!
In just
2 years, this fund, which was created here at CavalierTalk, has raised over £20,000 to help researchers find the cause of syringomyelia in cavaliers, and to improve treatment possibilities. I do not know of a single alternative source of cavalier health funding which has raised so much money, in such a short period time, from such a wide range of donors, to deal with SM. I do know from researchers that many intriguing new insights have come from the many scans that they have now been able to do on cavaliers over 5 to 6 years of age, a critical age group for understanding the disease.
Much of that funding has been raised on this board, by board members, through donations large and small, and the most creative range of activities anyone could imagine!
Thank you so much for continuing to keep the faith that this horrific condition can be overcome and that we might all be able to own healthy and happy cavaliers in the future.
Our next goal: £25,000!
