Default A happy rescue in New York City

A sweet little girl gets her sweet dog back because a woman follows her instincts. Morale of the tale: don't leave your dog tied up in public places.

We've been discussing this in the Dog and Bone! Yes so true but good there was a happy ending.

i did this once with oliver..and learned my lesson. never again.
i went into the restraunt of a little cafe and left him tied up just at hte top of this ramp. came out to chaos in the cafe.
"what the HELL is that?" "oh my god its a DOG"
oliver as outside..crying his siren cry ..telling the whole world i left him outside.
i got a toung lashing from the restraunt ..because he was not aloud at the top of the ramp..ony at the bottom..or they could get sued. and i also got 'told' here when i came to relay the story. I LEARNED! NEVER EVER AGAIN. young and stupid i was.
I havnt had to yet with maggie..but with oliver forever after that..id find one of those public restrooms (outdoors..weather it be out house or public washroom) and drag him in with me. hed watch people from under the stall..but he was safe lol.

My family's border collie came to college with me, and I once tied him at the top of the stairs to go in to use a restroom. He was not in any danger of being stolen, but his distress at being left put him in danger (for those who aren't thinking this through, from the top a dog can jump and break a leg (short fall, long leash) or hang themselves (long fall, short leash)).

I have thought about leaving my cavaliers tied up while I pop into a store, but the fear that I'll come out and they'll be gone is too great. I can always just visit that store on a day I don't have my dogs.

I have wanted or need to run into a store before and the weather was perfect outside not hot nor cold and I was going to leave Fletcher in the car. He's in a small travel crate and of course I'd lock the doors but I still didn't do it because I didn't want to stress him....even if I was only going to be less than 5 mins. Basically if I would leave my kid I wouldn't leave Fletcher either. I WISH I could leave Mr. Monster in the crate for an hour or so I'm kidding.....maybe not yes I am
