As one who's own dog was badly bitten I would now launch an attack on the attacking dog, hopefully the pit bulls owners are traced through the photos as they gave false details after the attack

It's horrific, have seen this on FB as well.

I do not have an issue with particular breeds (and at any rate -- this is likely not a 'pit bull' anyway though it is a bull breed or mix) but I do have an issue with particular dogs -- and the rush by some of the 'breed not deed' people to defend this DOG is nauseating. DEED people, DEED -- the stupid animal attacked and nearly killed another dog. Probably because poorly socialised or encouraged to end up like this by the owner and also not properly managed (muzzle for all walks at the very least! but this dog should by pts). But the DOG is a PROBLEM and a KILLER.

Glad this little cavalier survived. Hope the dog is found and euthenised and the idiot owners do time.

I too have no problem with bull type breeds, and I'm sad to say that this dog needs to be PTS. I don't believe that what this dog has learned can be unlearned and it could quit easily attack a small child for example. What really sickens me are the people would derive pleasure from this, they are totally wired wrong. I keep looking at my two and I'd be devistated if anything like that happened to them. Poor wee Cavi, I hope he gets better.

I am a dog lover but that pittbull needs to be PTS Im afraid. The owners need more than a fine and ban from owning dogs

I also owned a cavalier that was attacked by a lab (I think). Luckily, a friend had super speed and was able to get Ella and (sorry for graphic details) put her eye in and compressed it.

Personally, I think Pit Bulls get a bad reputation because of what owners do (fighting etc.). I am glad the owner turned him in.

BTW, the owner of the lab is someone I work with now. She never said she was sorry or anything. She should have warned me, tell me not to bring her, or keep her dog locked up. I heard Ella was not the first to show behavior (maybe actually attack) but I also heard her recently say something that her dog did. Another attack I think (maybe at her). What if her dog attacks a child? I just wished for an apology but now I hope she is able to control him

I'm delighted this dog is off the street but angry that the owner has so far not been charged. So the dog gets all the blame and yet I'd bet that the dog was never socialised, encouraged to be aggressive and no basic training. Police are now trying to establish DNA of said dog, my question is, does it matter? It's deed not breed, and that idiot owner is to blame for it all.

Hmmmmm.... I often walk Fletcher in the dark and my gun toting husband insists I carry pepper spray and my cell phone. Maybe its not such a bad idea. I would much rather have Fletcher treated for pepper spray than dog bites. Just saying... glad the dog has been turned in but the real criminal (the owner) needs to be charged.
