Default Cavalier in weight loss contest

I saw this online and even though I'm glad he will be losing weight it's a shame it's for a contest.

so sad that people let their pets' weight get so far out of hand...

We've met a cavalier who was 3x Luke's weight before, and several that were close to double. Sad, especially considering these are dogs who are known to have bad hearts. Extra weight can't be any good for a dog with a bad heart.

There are knee issues too and the weight will just exacerbate that. It's almost like pet abuse, yet Im sure these people love their dogs.

I hope the contest helps them lose or at the very least makes folks take a second look at how much they are feeding their pets.
