We saw the vet this morning Gus has been constipated these last few days and she has suggested giving him some motilium for a few days to see if that helps him he has been getting more and more constipated in the last few weeks, we have already changed his food to one suggested by the vet, other than that he seems fine now his form has improved. He is still sleeping a lot and doesn't always want to go for a walk but she said that is normal for an 'old man' and commented that sadly it is rare to see a Cavalier alive that is nearly 12...

He is to see her again in a few weeks if his weight continues to decrease...

Pippin's heart has enlarged but is very stable with a constant rate of 100 which she says is down to the Cardisure, she will scan his heart again in Sept and we will have a better picture of things then. She did say (as I asked her) that once the heart starts to dilate it will shorten his life but she said we don't need to worry too much for the moment. Pippin is still bright and breezy and still our mischief maker so we just treat him normally, better to have a decent shorter life than curtailing him so he stays with us longer..that's my opinion anyway.
