Margaret C

Well-known member
The Companion Cavalier Club is organising a Health Seminar on Sunday 22nd September 2013 at The Kennel Club Building, Stoneleigh Park, Near Coventry, Warwickshire CV8 2LZ.

The Speakers are:

Dr Imelda McGonnell, PhD MRCVS, Senior Lecturer, RVC.
Imelda has been undertaking research to focus on understanding how the skull and brain interact in development to co-ordinate their growth and differentiation, with specific relation to identifying how Chiari–like Malformation and Syringomyelia in Cavalier King Charles Spaniels develops.

Julia Sargent BVSc MRCVS, Veterinary specialist-in-training, RVC
Julia is particularly interested in the use of advanced cardiac imaging techniques to further the understanding and treatment of acquired and congenital heart disease.

Lynn Burton, Trustee of the Ann Conroy Trust
Last year Lynn gave a very illuminating talk about living day to day with Chiari Malformation and we hope she will be able to do the same this year. Because of the unpredictable nature of CM we will not be able to confirm her as a definite speaker until nearer the time.

The day will start with tea/coffee at 10am and the talks will commence at 10.30am. We plan to finish at around 4pm. Well behaved dogs are welcome, but they must be quiet and under control during the Seminar.

Tickets for the day, which include refreshments and a buffet lunch, will be a special rate of £15.00 for Companion Cavalier Club Members. Non-Members tickets will cost £25.00.
