That's great; I'm glad you double-checked!! the health issues are so important for the breed so going with a good breeder is even more important that it always is... Maybe what he said was that you could pick her up IN 6 weeks as I think you were there when she was 2 weeks? And then you confused it with AT 6 weeks...

The important question now is: how much longer is left at this point? As we will be waiting for some puppy pics. Did you take any when you went to pick her out? I took this pic of Jaspar at 3.5 weeks and it is fun now to be able to look at him when he was so tiny:

yep karlin ur right when u said that i mistake him for saying that i can get her home in 6 ks(shes 2 wks already), i assumed he meant shw would b 6 weeks old.(doh).lol.. and i adore your pics they are just tooooooooooo cute, why i have waited so long to get one of these beautiful dogs is a mystery to me, i am going around petshops looking at dog things like an excited new mum lol. and no i didnt take any pics when i went out to see my new pup, i had my mobile with me and could of used that but me and my mum were just too busy admiring the pups and playing with the rest of the family that i just completely forgot...... but when i get my little girl i will definitely have my camera clicking non stop, and i will show off my proud pictures in here, i love looking at the pics of all your dogs, they are gorgeous and it makes me feel lovely and love inside reading all the posts and i can see from your posts that you all love your dogs very much, they are such characters.
i will go now because i get to get back to surfing on the net to try and find a name for my little baby ..cyaaaaaaa xo

They are indeed the cutest little things when they're young. I have heard the hamster analogy before, too. I assume you have seen pictures when they're just a few days old when the noses are pink? If not, let me know and I can find some pictures of one of our past litters to post.

Getting really excited about upcoming litters; I need my "puppy fix"!!

Bruce, any advice on how to deal with the wee messages these 7 pups are leaving all over my floor, can yo try to make them poop in one place at this age or even in anohter week, when they will be more steady on thier feet.

i bottle fed one last night god he nearly ate the bottle!!!! but i noticed he needed to wee, so i called Mom, she came over and obliged and he also obliged, he ate more and then went to sleep, then when i put him back to his home he pooped on his sister, im afraid to wash the pups incase she doesnt like it as she is really fussy on smells adn cant stand even air freshner!

when i sprat her with bitch spray she goes mental, not to mention if she is bathed! so im worried about cleaning her pups.
    thanks

If anyone finds a way to get puppies to go in one spot, I am willing to pay almost anything for the answer Seriously, I have yet to find anything that works. When our pups are about 4 weeks old, we set up an x-pen on a piece of sheet vinyl and put a crate inside for their bedding. The pen helps contain the little "gifts" to a smaller area. We have had some very limited success with pee pads, but its still a mess. Just one of the messy parts of breeding. To clean up messes when the puppies are old enough to be running around the house, we keep several rolls of paper towels placed all over. If we're really quick, we can occasionally get a towel under a squatting pup before the poop hits the floor!

As far as cleaning pups, we don't often use shampoo, especially when they're younger. Just wet a paper towel with warm water and use that; you may need to hold it on hardened poop for a minute to soften it, but it works. Keep an eye on the puppies anus, as poop will sometimes tend to build up there and stick to the fur, making it very painful for puppy to poop.

Hope this helps. I wish you continued good luck with your puppies.

LOL thanks for that, but with 3 kids 2 dogs and a man about the house i have enough to be cleaning up after not to mention the 7 puppies!!!!!!!

    lucky they are so sweet!!!!

last year ii had paper down but the pups did it everywhere EXCEPT on the paper.

might warm the house tonight and [more then usual that is] and wash them all in water. thier bedding is now washed daily as i dont think it fair poor old Mom has to keep eating thier waste, if its thier waste it cannot be good for her.

she still seems to suffer a bit from reflux, i thought this would stop when pups were born but not so far, she can be sitting still then suddenly sit up and like swallow and swallow like she is choking for a few seconds, seems to last longer though.

have to say i am going to have a serious talk with my vet tomorrow, but i feel maybe its time to stop trying with MAx, i feel dreadfull about this but the vet has no clue what is wrong and therefore cannot fix him.... he wants to send me to a specialist, but i cannot take time off work for that as welll as my kids i have no days off anyway and have a child going into hospital soon too.

sorry mixing about 20 threads here into one. appologies.
    thanks
