Tips for Our New Puppy

Hello,

My husband and I are picking up our 4 month old cavalier this coming Saturday, February 8th. He comes from healthy parents and has had all of his vet work done, so he’s ready to come home with us now. I’ve done a good deal of research on the breed and what to expect, but there’s always a difference between reading and reality. We both grew up with dogs, but they were bigger with very different characteristics. What advice would you give a new owner about how to best train a cavalier puppy and what diet to keep them on for a healthy heart?

Thank you!

I also have always had dogs. And for 50+ years, they were Working or Herding breeds. Now I have 2 cavaliers from different breeders. Both breeders recommended Pro Plan food. They seem to be thriving on it. I also add a topping of Dr Marty’s freeze dried about 3 times a week.
And training…you can train Cavaliers? Mine have trained me, very well.
