• If you're a past member of the board, but can't recall your password any more, you don't need to set up a new account (unless you wish to). As long as you recall your old login name, you can log in with that user name then select 'forgot password' and the board will email you at your registration email, to let you reset your password.

Board info Posting pictures

Hi all: I know many have been trying to post pictures and either haven't been able to get the hang of what to do or are being told their image is too large and reduce its size. I set the image limits many years ago back when adding storage space to the site was really costly, and most people posted up their pictures to a photo site like Flickr anyway, and then shared the link.

This is an outdated approach now (that's what I get for having the board around for so long!). I'll be looking at how to address this in coming days. In the meantime there are lots of free image compressor tools online or you can do this on a PC or a Mac, too.

Meanwhile, here's what the board looked like back in 2006! https://web.archive.org/web/20060623022900/http://cavaliertalk.com/phpBB2/

A further update: according to the software developers for the board software, the next release will have a feature where photos will automatically be resized to suit the site limits. As they note, in an age where we can all take photos on our phones, ands those photos tend to be decent quality and therefore, very LARGE in terms of memory, having something that can manage this without throwing that task on the board user would be helpful.

Now, as to when!!! On their discussion forum, they began to demonstrate what is coming in the next release back in Sept. The release then was supposed to be 'soon'. Which can mean anything in developer-speak :sneaky:, could mean anything, but I'd be hoping this would realistically mean the next month or two by this point. Fingers crossed!
