Grooming tools

We're often asked about grooming tools for Cavaliers - obviously it may depend on age [it's best to get them used to being brushed and handled daily from puppyhood]; length and type of coat; and most importantly, any health conditions.

Any Cavalier with pain may find grooming difficult, uncomfortable and even painful - if so, discuss with your vet. Short, gentle sessions are best.

This is [most of 😱]the collection of grooming tools I have amassed over the years!

For a basic kit for a pet Cavalier with no CM/SM symptoms, I would use a flexible slicker and greyhound comb.

BTW I tried the biosilk brush on myself first and liked it so much I bought one for me too 😁

I was watching YouTube videos of two different people grooming cavaliers and they pulled so hard on their coats with brushes and combs!! I kept thinking, why didn't they do shorter sections and strokes rather than pulling the tool a long distance and thus through a lot of resistance in the coat. EEK!!! I was grimacing on behalf of the cavaliers.
