We met Charlotte Today!!!

Hmmm...you may want to consider Charlotte since you already have a male dog. Sometimes 2 males do NOT do well together...each trying to be "king of the castle" can get to be a bad situation...Just another factor to consider. ;)

Thanks for the vote Cicero's Mummy!
Do you like her look better or the fact that she is female?

Good point, I have never had 2 dogs so I don't know much about the male/female dynamic.

My Golden is very sweet, laid back and very submissive, he will be such a good big brother.

I like her "face" structure... I tend to lean more towards the "ducky" looking faces (as I call them).

Plus... who can resist that cute little "kissing" spot!

"ducky face!! LOL!
I love it, I have know idea what a ducky face is but is she has one I think I want her!!

Bronte--Wrigley and Mia get along great. Mia is very submissive and Wrigley is pretty laid back too. Ask your breeder if she thinks Charlie will be more submissive or alpha. I would bet there wouldn't be a problem with Charlotte as she already seems laid back and she's a female. If Charlie is laid back, too, then there probably wouldn't be a problem either. Goldens are so even tempered, there probably wouldn't be a problem either way---there, did that help? ;)

They're both beautiful! I've heard and I think it's true, boys are more cuddly and "attached", then girls. Mia is very affectionate, but when there's something better to do, she's doing it. Wrigley is my velcro dog--where I am, there he must be also, if you know what I mean... If Griffin is a "velcro" like Wrigley, and Charlie is the same way, it could be exhausting.

Just food for thought--it's gonna be a tough decision!! You'll win either way, though!

Denise, that was great input!

Griffin in VERY velcro...he sleeps right beside me on the floor and even escorts me in the middle of the night to the kitchen for water and sits and waits! LOL! He is my shadow. I am hoping the new puppy will help entertain him a little as he is very needy as far as he HAS to be around one of us at all times. I love it and won't change him at all he just needs a sibling so badly.
He "tries" to play with our cat but the cats wants no of it!

After all this great input from you all, Charlotte is really looking like the best choice. I just hope her eyes fix...She can look to the left and straight ahead at the same time. :sl*p: icon_whistling

That will normally fix. They are just like human babies at this point. My first pic of myself with my neice has her eyes completely crossed!

:D That is what our breeder said too, it just looks so funny right now!

Do you know if the puppy coat is close to or maybe nothing like the coat they will get when they are older?

Daddy was stick straight and Mommy was curly.
I hope they take after their Daddy there.

It's a hard choice - they are both beautiful. I think I like Charlotte's petite head shape and facial expression a little better, although Charlie seems to have more white overall, which is one of my personal preferences. I think you have your heart set on a girl, so I know that will definitely factor big into your final decision. I am lucky that I didn't have an option to choose, since there was only one blenheim girl in the litter and that's what I had been waiting for. I don't know how I could have done it!

Best of luck :)

you've heard this over and over again, but those are two very ADORABLE puppies to choose from!! DH and I sort of have the same problem... we've got first pick and can't decide between a certain boy and a certain girl... in our situation too both are very cute, one has a perfect blen spot, both have pretty nice markings, and they both have faces and eyes that make your heart just melt.... augh, it's so hard to choose!!!

we've read that boys are "more affectionate"... but i'm sure you've read the debate about that... girls are definitely loving too!! so at first we wanted a boy b/c of that, but deep down inside we both initially wanted a baby girl.... so we'll see... you'll figure it all out in the end, and either way, you will have a very beautiful cavalier...

anyway sorry i'm not much help, but just wanted to say good luck!

Thanks Heather!

It is so tough...they are both really sweet but I am leaning toward Charlotte at this point. Denise brought up a very good point about her needed Golden, I am in the same situation with Griffin and it could get exhausting.

Look how stunning Charlie and Charlotte's daddy is!!

Thanks for your support.

Do you have photos of the two you could share, maybe we can help?

oh good idea! i'm new to this board, so haven't thought about that! i'll have to search my camera for some good pics! thanks for asking! good luck again!

Well, if you love the look of "Penny" ... lol ... you know which one I would pick! ;) I think our baby looks incredibly like Charlotte, but possibly with even more white.

Tough call on the coat too. Tilly was a big curly fluff ball when we got her at 8 weeks. Then all of a sudden it fell out and she had bald spots! :yikes :yikes :yikes But now it is back in full force. However the only curl she has now is on her ears. Her coat is very straight and slick. That may just be the tri coat. :flwr:

She does Julie, your little girl does have more white but the face is very similar.

She doesn't have the puppy eye thing going on like ours does.

I have three boys and one girl dog. With my girl dog's personality I didn't want to introduce a female. She is very dominant!! My three boys get along just fine... they love each other almost as much as they love me. I had never had a boy dog until my Golden. Now, I think I'll stick with boy dogs forever!

I do think it depends on the individual dogs temperaments as opposed to sex, unless they're intact, of course!

Bronte,

What a tough decision! You clearly can't go wrong with either of them...so adorable! Based on looks alone, I prefer Charlie. His face is just a bit cuter to me, even without the blen spot. I think his eyes are more endearing, if that makes any sense. But, based on the temperment you described, I like Charlotte. The fact that she's a bit calmer and cuddly and that she's a girl would be big factors for me.

I know that many says Cav boys are more loving...granted, I've never had a Cav boy, but it would be hard for me imagine any dog being more loving than Gracie. So, on that point, I'm fairly confident that you wouldn't wish for that once you got Charlotte. Either one will shower you with more affection than you can imagine!

Good luck deciding...what a great problem to have! :D

I love my boy too, my sister's all have boy dogs as well and they are so sweet.

I'm torn, I have a while to decide so that is good.
I am going out again in 4 weeks so I'm happy about that, I can interact with the 2 when they are a little older.

Okay, so who looks more like dad?
